  Lightning! - Severe Weather
Learning Goal(s): Students will watch a NOVA video today titled "Lightning!". A companion assignment can be found below. By watching the video and performing the tasks on the assignment the students will learn how lightning is caused, how it is studied, and how to behave safely out-of-doors during a thunderstorm.

  Tornado! - Severe Weather
Learning Goal(s): Students will watch the NOVA video titled "Tornado!". This video is of the original Storm Chasers. Students will learn the weather conditions which cause tornadoes and why tornadoes are so destructive. A companion assignment is below.

Learning Goal(s): Students will complete the following assignment on Severe Weather (Lightning & Tornadoes) by visiting the websites linked above, below and on previous 8th Science weeks. Our goal is to understand just how powerful these types of servere weather are as well as how costly in both money and lives severe weather can be. Students will also learn what areas of the USA are more prone to the occurance of severe weather.
